VIJAYAWADA: In a prime case of cell phone robbery, unidentified miscreants allegedly thrashed a lorry motive force and robbed a truckload of cellular phones of a particular brand near Dagadarthi village at National Highway sixteen in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh inside the wee hours of Wednesday. According to Kavali rural police, the incident befell even as the truck driving force stopped his vehicle from taking rest. Around four miscreants allegedly thrashed him black and blue and tied him to a tree, leaving him in a helpless role.
Soon, they fled away with the truck containing around Rs 1 crore worth of mobile telephones. Later, they stopped the vehicle at Gowravaram village, transferred the cellular telephones to any other unidentified truck, and fled from the spot. Locals who found the driving force tied to the tree rescued him and informed the police. Cops later located the empty truck parked on the side of the street. Cops said that the truck turned into transporting the cell telephones costing between Rs 6,000 and Rs 14,000 apiece from Sri City, a special monetary area to Kolkata. Cops additionally expressed suspicion that this may be a preplanned robbery attempt from a person inside the corporation. A theft case changed into registered using Dagadarthi sub-inspector Ankama.
